NEW & UPDATED PRODUCTS

73 Strings has announced a new update to its platform; the ability to extract tables from PDFs in any language. With this update users around the world won't have to deal with language barriers and can focus on streamlined data extraction.

Attio has announced it is launching Automations. Automations allows users to build & automate any process or system for your GTM team in Attio. Automations launches on November 8, 2023.

Portagon has announced a new update to its platform. Users now have the opportunity to rate your investors yourself from their white-label investor portal and classify them as "semi-professional" investors.

Addepar has announced two new updates to its platform. The first update allows users to hide empty sections so it automatically omits sections from reports when data isn’t available. This update eliminates the need to delete empty sections manually. The second update is data imports. With this update, users can now import historical prices, target allocations, and estimated returns directly in Addepar.

SS&C has launched the Black Diamond CRM module, which integrates into the SS&C Black Diamond Wealth Platform. Key features of the Black Diamond CRM module include: InTouch, Account Opening, Time & Expense, Workflow Manager, email and other pre-built Integrations.

Eleven has launched Eleven OS 7, which changes how data interacts between Eleven's Investor Profiles and investments. OS 7 allows for Investor Profile data and documents to be centrally maintained across investments.

Ontra has launched Digital Most Favored Nations (MFN) Elections, a new purpose-built solution designed to help private fund managers accelerate the investor MFN election process. The dMFN feature is available within Ontra’s Insight platform. It streamlines the MFN process, simplifying form creation and ongoing obligation compliance, while reducing fund expenses and the risk of election errors.

Carta has introduced Carta Fund Tax. With Carta Fund Tax, users can manage fund accounting and taxes in one place and can deliver draft K-1s to investors on the first of the quarter.

Markerr has integrated Quantitative Multifamily Rent Forecast into Markerr Data Studio. Markerr Data Studio now provides users with instant access to quantitative forecasts for thousands of ZIP codes. Users also can leverage generative AI to automatically summarize these forecasts directly in Markerr Data Studio.

Robin AI has announced that its AI contract copilot can now be added to Microsoft Word as a free add-in. By integrating its software with Word, Robin AI is making it easier for lawyers to benefit from the latest AI technologies, giving themselves a competitive and cost-effective advantage.

Mend.io has launched Mend Renovate Enterprise Edition. Mend Renovate Enterprise Edition adds unlimited server scalability, dedicated support, and premium features to Mend.io's Renovate, a dependency management tool.

DEAL ACTIVITY

Accelex has announced it has closed a $15 million Series A funding round led by FactSet, with participation from existing investors. This will allow Accelex to further expand operations, enhance product capabilities, and deliver client success. This transaction also strengthens the relationship between the two firms.

Nasdaq has completed its acquisition of Adenza, a provider of risk management, regulatory reporting, and capital markets software. To maximize the benefits of the acquisition, Nasdaq also announced a change to its corporate structure, with Adenza becoming a part of its newly created Financial Technology division, led by Tal Cohen, Co-President, Nasdaq.

MSCI has completed its acquisition of Trove Research. Together, they will bring transparency to voluntary carbon markets and promote greater clarity and consistency for investors and companies across industries.

PARTNERSHIPS & INTEGRATIONS

Hydroware, a CapMan portfolio company, is partnering with Dealstack to manage their management incentive plan (MIP). Going forward, joiners, leavers and other changes can be managed in just a few clicks. Participants will keep track of their ownership and deal teams remain focused on value add, not deal admin.The plan will be fully managed from within Dealstack’s platform.

NEW CLIENTS

Warana Capital has implemented Canoe to automate its document collection and data extraction workflows, specifically for its capital calls, distributions, and account statements. Prior to their Canoe implementation, the Warana team relied on their administrator(s) and/or their internal document and data management workflow for their investments, which was mostly manual.

Position Green has welcomed Galway Sustainable Capital, a US-based specialty finance company investing in growth-stage businesses, as a sustainable investment software user.

Strise, the AML intelligence system, has chosen Valu8 Ownership Information as its data supplier. Strise is based in Oslo and was founded in 2019.

PAAMCO Prisma selects Arcesium to strengthen its treasury management services. Arcesium’s treasury capabilities are designed to provide transparency and control over PAAMCO Prisma’s collateral management and securities lending. With advanced margin replication and simulation strategies, Arcesium’s solutions are engineered to enable PAAMCO Prisma to optimize multi-asset collateral allocation for their multi-strategy platform, Molecule.

HIRING & PERSONNEL

PE Cube has announced the appointment of Juan Rivas, who has joined the team as the Communication & Marketing Manager.

StepStone Group has moved its New York office to a new location. Their new address is 277 Park Avenue.

Maximilien Rae has joined Preqin as VP, Head of Product - Company Intelligence. Rae will help facilitate strategic product outcomes for Preqin's Company Intelligence business unit by helping to identify and translate the needs of their customers into meaningful solutions.

Aurelien Poulet has joined Dasseti as Head of Client Solutions. Poulet has years of due diligence experience following 10 years at Abu Dhabi Investment Authority.

73 Strings has announced that Michael Ballian has joined the company as Managing Director, based in Brazil. Most recently Ballian was at Kroll, where he was Managing Director, Valuation Advisory.

RelPro has welcomed three new team members. Mahesh Sahore is the new Chief Technology Officer, Sara Henderson Allen is the new Chief Growth Officer and Chinmay Gangal is a new Senior Software Engineer.

IQ-EQ has officially opened its Abu Dhabi office. Its new office, centrally located in the Abu Dhabi Global Market, adds to its existing presence in Dubai and their support for clients in the region. It also enhances their local servicing capabilities, with a licence from the ADGM's regulator to deliver fund administration services.

Factset has published a new blog, "Can AI Predict the Future?" Factset states that when it relates to artificial intelligence, the word "prediction" has a different connotation than the regular human word. One example is machine learning, which helps computers learn from experience and make decisions based on that learning.

Arcesium has published a new blog, "Three Advanced Technologies Shaping the Future of the Private Markets". These three technologies, which Arcesium discusses in detail are: AI, blockchain and cloud-native technology.

Ontra has released a new blog, "The SEC’s Preferential Treatment Rule for private fund advisers". The rule prohibits all private fund advisers from providing preferential treatment to investors, unless the adviser discloses information regarding any preferential treatment related to any material economic terms provided to other investors in advance of a prospective investor’s investment in the private fund. But there is a Legacy Status Rule, whereby the SEC is providing legacy status for the prohibitions aspects of the Preferential Treatment Rule that require investor consent.

Digify has released a new blog, "5 best practices for negotiating term sheets". In this blog, Digify explains the 5 best practices for negotiating a term sheet, which then gives your company an advantage.

SS&C has released a new report, "Embracing the New - Decoding LPs' Perspectives on Emerging Managers Report 2023". One key finding from this report is the top three most influential factors for LPs when choosing GPs are: team expertise, transparency and reporting quality, and alignment with LP philosophy.

Moonfare has published a new blog, "Secondary Market in Private Equity: How It Works, Benefits and Future Growth". In this blog Moonfare structures secondary deals into three distinct categories: LP secondary transactions, GP-led transaction and direct secondary transactions.

Arcesium has posted a new blog, "The New SEC Rule for Private Fund Advisors". Arcesium feels that technology and data management will play equally important roles in helping firms provide the required level of detail and adhere to reporting timelines.

Quantium has published a new post, "Private Market Operations: the Co-Sourcing Model for Fund Administrators and GPs". Quantium writes about the shifting dynamics of the private market fund operations, which have seen a rising trend towards outsourcing of fund administration. Quantium feels that outsourcing provides private markets GPs with many benefits such as cost efficiencies, access to specialized expertise, improved scalability, and the ability to focus on core investment and portfolio management functions.

Titanbay has released a new article, "Enterprise Software: Resilience in Uncertain Times?" Titanbay feels that despite ongoing economic uncertainties and technology market fluctuations, enterprise software is one of the most resilient sub-sectors. In addition to its low correlation to economic cycles, enterprise software has been supported by increased cloud deployment, growth in investment activity and post-Covid trends.

AlphaSense has published a new blog, "The Future of Generative AI in Market Research". Generative Artificial Intelligence (genAI) is the branch of AI that can generate images, videos, audio, text, and 3D models by studying existing data and using its findings to produce new, original data. AlphaSense describes how GenAI is able to help marketers penetrate new markets, identify untapped consumers, and aid in strategy building. It is forecasted that genAI will play an ever-increasing role in market research due to its efficiency, effectiveness, and simplicity.

SS&C has released a new blog, "3 Ways Automation Elevates Wealth & Asset Management". The three examples of how automation can elevate the success of wealth and asset management firms are: Streamline M&A, create more efficient trade confirmations and increasing regulatory compliance.

Altvia has released a new whitepaper, "Key Workflows & Data Points in Fundraising & Investing". Altvia states that in order to raise funds faster and provide a better investor experience, firms need to enable internal teams to work in concert, powered by a technology strategy that gives everyone the data they need across the investment lifecycle for both internal and external stakeholders.

Ontra has published a new blog, "How private funds can prepare for the Corporate Transparency Act". Once the CTA goes into effect on January 1 2024, fund managers and their outside counsel must determine whether their entity management solution supports efficiently evaluating each legal entity for CTA reporting.
